When Sidley’s Washington D.C. office lease approached expiration in 2016, executive leadership identified an opportunity to revisit space utilization to better align with their forward looking business strategy.

Solution

After a full scale market search and competitive bid process led by JM Zell, Sidley chose to re-lease and renovate in-place. To mitigate disruption of day-to-day business operations, JM Zell developed and executed a swing space renovation strategy allowing the firm to renovate its entire space in place with no downtime and significant savings over other options.

Previously, JM Zell represented Sidley in its original move to 1501 K Street, coinciding with Sidley Austin’s merger with Brown Wood.
