Norway enlisted JM Zell to enhance its Chancellery building in Washington D.C. The project encompassed a complete interior renovation and addition spanning 34,000 square feet plus exterior landscaping. Serving as Norway's project manager, JM Zell oversaw the entire process, from design and permitting to construction. This included managing pre-construction tasks, developing budgets and schedules, and providing advice on design and construction contracts to align with Norway’s rigorous approval standards. In addition, JM Zell coordinated the team’s activities with the US State Department as required under the law and liaised with Norway’s regulatory and oversight authorities in Oslo.
Beyond project management oversight, JM Zell was tasked with identifying, securing, and overseeing the delivery of a temporary Chancellery in an offsite location as swing space to minimize the operational impact of the renovation and expansion. JM Zell's unique team structure ensured a single point of contact for Norway throughout the project, streamlining internal project management efforts and consistently addressing Norway’s objectives from project initiation to completion.
